It’s Piotr Schmidt, a well known jazz trumpeter, music producer and publisher, band leader, lecturer at the Jazz Institute of the University of Applied Sciences in Nysa and the Katowice Academy of Music, where in 2016 he gained a doctoral degree in Music. In 2006 he won a scholarship to University of Louisville, Kentucky and early in his career (2006-2010) he won many individual awards at various prestigious international jazz competitions. To date, Piotr has produced and published nine own albums. For the past six years Piotr has ranked among the best four jazz trumpeters in the annual Jazz Top poll of the Jazz Forum magazine.

Piotr Schmidt has released eleven original albums to his credit, including three with the Piotr Schmidt Electric Group (Schmidt Electric). Since 2011, he has been listed in the top four as "the best jazz trumpeter of the year" in the Jazz Top poll of the Jazz Forum magazine.

He collaborated, among others with musicians such as: Walter Smith III, Alex Hutchings, Ernesto Simpson, Zbigniew Namysłowski, Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski, Henryk Miśkiewicz, Grzegorz Nagórski, Dante Luciani, Maciej Sikała, Piotr Baron, Wiesław Pieregorólka, Grzech Piotrowski, Wojciech Niedziela, Jacek Niedziela-Meira , Marcin Jahr, Wojciech Karolak, Mariusz Bogdanowicz, Wojciech Myrczek, Apostolis Anthimos, Marek Napiórkowski, Dominik Wania, Paweł Kaczmarczyk, Paweł Tomaszewski, Kazimierz Jonkisz and Michał Barański. He also collaborated with stage vocalists: Krystyna Prońko, Ewa Bem, Kuba Badach, Ten Typ Mes (Piotr Szmidt) and Miuosh.

Piotr Schmidt is also the artistic director of the SJRecords publishing house, which has released 48 albums by various artists since 2011.
