A German-Ukrainian extraordinary duo, whose repertoire consists of their original compositions based on folk elements from both of their countries, merged with standard jazz and pop.
Matthias Schriefl, a most unusual trumpeter from Kempten in the Allgäu region of southwest Bavaria, is now garnering international recognition with his various bands: Shreefpunk, European TV Brass Trio, 6, and Alps & Jazz. He has toured in Australia, Africa, Central America, the USA, Turkey, Russia, India and south-eat Asia.
Ukrainian singer-pianist Tamara Lukasheva is a very active member of the Cologne jazz scene and plays in the Bundesjugendjazzorchester (German Youth Jazz Orchestra). She uses her voice as an instrument – full of dynamics and with a variety of sounds – which gives each of her compositions an unusual character.
