Here they come: the young German guns! With heavy grooves, earthy sounds and driving rhythms Mo` Blow is causing an ever-growing international furore. Once again a member of ACT`s „Young German Jazz“ series is among the pioneers of the next generation. The Berlin-based jazzfunk quartet has already astonished the scene with their snappy ACT debut „For Those About To Funk“.The Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper wrote, "Party, not with run-of-the-mill grooves, but with quality", whilst others praised the timelessness and complexity of the album. In addition to good critiques, they also won the "Future Sounds" competition at the Leverkusen Jazz Days, there being no doubt in the jury`s mind: "Mo` Blow light up a sparkling funk firework on the stage".

And now, the new release "Gimme The Boots" proves all the more that Mo’ Blow really is the successful hybrid of sounds of the seventies with the contemporary. With its own high energy, the very first track "Call Me Milroy" grabs you by the ears and legs, from the slap sounds played by Mo’ Blow founder Felix Falk on sax to the perfect round-off with a percussive solo by Matti Klein on the Fender Rhodes. „Slingshot“ is pure boiling funk, fuelled by Tobias Fleischer`s thumping bass while Andre Seidel develops a series of driving rhythms on „Papa`s Pancakes“.

On „Gimme The Boots“, the quartet`s aim was to present themselves in a pure form and this time they also chose not to call on guest stars. The whole record originated from the band`s own machine, including all compositions. The group`s signature sound that has developed over the ten years is displayed here in an impressive manner. A musical energy is captured here that the group has earned itself over the years, in hundreds of concerts both in Germany and abroad. The band frequently leaves audiences stunned and surprised, be it in Norway, Russia or Malaysia. A lot of surprising details also define the character of the Mo’ Blow sound such as a didgeridoo or rhythmic feats on all instruments. The band`s enormous musical spectrum is further documented by concerts with featured artist such as Gunter Hampel, Nils Wülker or David Friedman.

The mixture is the key! Nils Landgren couldn`t resist: he produced "Gimme The Boots" just as he did the ACT debut. Mo` Blow – a band that receives more and more attention beyond Germany. These boys have truly earned their reputation as one of the most energetic acts around.
