Monika Malczak - a young, successful and extremly fast-developing vocalist, titled „the New Hope of Jazz 2017” - will appear at this year’s edition of Jazz in the Ruins festival.

In 2016 she reached the Polish Radio’s Top Five in the category of „Polish Jazz Debut 2016” and in the same year she won the 43rd edition of International Meetings of Jazz Vocalists.

Her band, Monika Malczak Quartet, consists of musicians connected with the Jazz Institute of Music Academy in Katowice. Their constant search for new sounds together with various music inspirations and exceptional talent make their music fresh and unique. At the moment, they are are working on their first album inspired, among others, by free jazz and folk music.
